Well. Before this one, Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis op is also headbanging. And visually better than this in my opinion. But this one also one of my favourite anime op all time.

The fact that all the lines and each and every word carried soo deep emotions ...just so heart touching... especially when it says "if i loose it all slip and fall" and " all I wanted to do was the right thing never wanted to be the king and save you and not grab knife" those are MASTERPIECE.....a heartaching hype...

@InC0Gnito I agree, but personally I think that what's said isn't as important as what the music portrays and i think they portray the weight and conflict that eren has in his heart perfectly. I think for some writers, they get too caught up in the technical parts that they forget about making something appealing to the lay listener or reader.

I would be EXTREMELY down for a song that fuses the vibes of My War and Red Swan as the final final one.
I never really realized until just now that there’s so much foreshadowing not only in the anime but in the music: the deep screaming voice represents the Attack Titan’s fearsomeness and relentlessness, while the regular singing voice represents Eren’s true intentions and despair, both voices belonging to essentially the same person. Holy shit.
Edit - deeper analysis with spoilers
The way I interpret this song is that is Eren singing to Mikasa and possibly Armin, based on the ending in the manga. As I also stated, the screaming voice represents the Attack Titan while the regular singing voice belongs to Eren, but in human form. However, there’s a third voice, or rather, VOICES. These voices sing “Rumbling, rumbling, it’s coming….” They represent the other AOT characters who know the rumbling will happen.
LYRICS:
“Rumbling, rumbling, it’s coming, rumbling, rumbling” - humanity chanting that the rumbling is on its way
“Beware, coming for you” - Attack Titan (belonging to Eren at this point) confirming this. Could also be a lyric based on Eren’s twisted sense of good intention, warning people that it would happen, perhaps despite the fact he would annihilate them.
“All I ever wanted to do was do right things, I never wanted to be the king” - Eren’s frustration at being trapped in the time loop, having to influence the decisions of important characters to achieve his end (the death of the Titans). His perceived evil intentions were really just him trying to do the right thing - saving humanity from the titans. “I never wanted to be the king” - Eren was afraid of having to be the martyr for humankind in order to achieve this goal, further confirming his own humanity. This fear is hidden behind a mask of sense of freedom, and overruled by the knowledge that SOMEONE would have to destroy the titans.
“I swear” - Attack Titan once again, swearing he would put an end to the titans.
“All I ever wanted to do was save your life, I never wanted to grab a knife” - direct reference to Eren killing Mikasa’s kidnappers, and also perhaps during the training sequence when Eren said it would be dumb to use a knife to defend oneself. Eren, in fact, used a knife to kill Mikasa’s kidnappers. These lyrics could mean that if Eren had the chance, he would’ve used an even larger weapon to kill them with even more brutality. However, that’s a pretty shallow interpretation - it didn’t matter how Eren would kill them, as long as he could save Mikasa, not only in that moment, but in the bigger picture, allowing her to live a long happy life after he was gone.
“I swear” - Attack Titan. You can also hear the faint regular singing voice of Eren, trying to reassure Mikasa that no matter what, he would be there to protect her despite the rumbling.
“Tearless, fearless, burning, burning; you tell me what have I missed, still wandering in the deep mist.” - attack titan stuck in the paths. He has missed no part of humanity’s history following the creation of the attack titan, controlling everything from the paths, wondering if there is something that he missed when he was trying to manipulate history to end the way he intends (supports the theory that Eren has been through multiple timelines and is searching for the “correct” one).
“If I lose it all, slip and fall, I will never look away. If I lose it all, lose it all, lose it all. If I lose it all, outside the wall, live to die another day.” - This also supports the theory that Eren is stuck in the time loop looking for a timeline that ends with the annihilation of the Titans, and when Eren wakes up under the tree at the beginning, it is really just him waking up from the end of a previous timeline that failed this mission: “Live to die another day.” Eren will never stop searching for the timeline in which he succeeds.
“I don’t want anything, I’m just here to… Beware.” Hints at Eren not wanting anything for himself, but for humanity. He knows that in order to succeed he has to die to achieve freedom. The freedom he would want or COULD want would be freedom from being stuck in the time loop, but that can only happen if he dies.

The manga ending was mixed but the extra pages made it negative

it is day seventeen and while i haven’t found the most valid reason as to why eren did the rumbling, my friend did make a list for all the traumas mikasa has endured over the years. it is a literal wall of words but i will copy n paste the list in the replies. my journey to find erens reasoning is no where near it’s finish, and i doubt the blood sweat and tears i will endure will result in this task being fruitless.
1. Her parents get murdered starting the trauma
2. She gets kidnapped and hears they're gonna sell her
3. She kills her murders (which is not something a normal child would do)
4. She watches her adoptive mother get eaten but turns away in the right moment
5. Her adoptive father is missing
6. During the training she watches her fellow cadets die
7. She thinks eren is dead and almost lets herself get eaten
8. Her squad leader gets decapitated
9. She watches the love of her life get the shit kicked out of him in court
10. She watches Eren get kidnapped and cant do anything
11. Eren being a little unaware shit doesn't realize how she feels until like s2 which means she had to deal with his bull for godknows how many years
12. She has to fight annie while eren is like half dead (idk if she knows tho so this might be an extra number
13. Annie who Mikasa seems to have some affection for is crystalized and Mikasa was the one who caused her to fall off the wall
14. Eren gets kidnapped ✨ a g a i n ✨
15. She has to get him back and on the mission a titan crushes her back
16. She has to watch the drunk uncle who everyone loved get eaten right in front of her

34. The entire reason as to why Ymir did what she died was because she wanted to see how Mikasa's love for Eren was gonna be, the real protagonist was Mikasa, not Eren, Ymir only cared about Mikasa
35. When Eren went into the mindscape with Mikasa and Armin before he died he knew him and Mikasa both had the choice to run away and live happily for the next 4 years, which they both declined

@Qwerty Mark It's not a perfect ending but it's far from mediocre. I would have loved maybe another two chapters to expand on a couple of things. *SPOILERS*
Eren crumbling and declaring he loves Mikasa could’ve been great with an extra chapter for him to come to terms rather than just blurting it out. The amount of pressure he has been under this entire time and the feelings he’s suppressed I love the idea of him just regressing to a scared boy, but it was just a bit too quick.
Even though the actual lyrics is Beware it definitely sounds like Break Free which fits the theme more
