I think this video brilliantly catches the essence of this channel. Three guys (and an editor) having fun. I mean .. when those three balloons were inflated, that was just a special moment for all of them. The montage from the editor captures that perfectly. Off task? Perhaps. Awesome? No doubt!

The higher in the atmosphere, the lower the air pressure. The amount of mass in the balloon cannot change. As it rises it keeps equilibrium with the air around it causing the balloon too expand, which leads it too pop.

    • CG
      CG 21 hari yang lalu

Well it pops because it reached it's maximum stretch and it causes it to rip. When balloons rip, all the air inside it rushes out so fast that it appears to just explode.

    • Dennis Ford

Several things are adding up to give lift. As a balloon stretches the pressure goes down. As the pump is a vane compressor it heats the air in the balloon and it is also heated from compression in the balloon. Would be interested to see a thermal, and I bet when it explodes the rubber is heated due to contraction

The pressure in a balloon is about equal with the atmospheric pressure outside of it. The containment vessel changes volume as external air pressure changes. The bang happens when the containment vessel is forced to stretch too much. That's the bang, it's not the air escaping, it's rubber snapping, sometimes hitting super-sonic velocities.
If you were to try something similar with a bike air shock, you'd see the aluminium air can stays the same shape until it reaches a point of overpressure at which moment the weakest part of the assembly deforms. The noise of a rupturing air can is caused by the air itself suddenly dispersing, not by the material failing and snapping back to shape. If you're lucky (from a riders perspective) that metal can filled with over 350psi (24bar) will fail at the seals. Usually when this happens the shock let's rip a hilarious fart and doesn't explode into shards of aluminium travelling very fast with an epicentre somewhere in-between your legs.
This is a basic overview but fortunately you're reading this on IDclips, a resource through which you can find some proper physicists explain these things much better than I can.

    • Michael Sisler
Michael Sisler Tahun Yang lalu +2

I don't think the dart actually penetrated the 3rd balloon at all, it just lost too much momentum in the 2nd balloon. The reason it blows out from the back is the ripples on the surface all travelling around and creating a weak spot that blew when they crossed each other on the opposite side of the impact.

the dart goes through the biggest balloon without popping it at 6:30, like how you can poke a skewer/pencil/ect. through the thicker rubber by the neck.

6:26 the dart goes through the balloon and pops it from the back side!

It just happened to hit the thickest part of the balloon, right near the nozzle where it wasn't stretched out. Couldn't do that again if he tried. (Well, these guys could sit and do it 4000 times until they did, but you know what I mean.)

Yeah, that's why it was delayed.

U can do that with a small balloon only on the nozzle end or the tip as the material is thicker

@DanielNgtx the elasticity of the rubber balloons produces pressure against the inflation until the balloon reaches its critical expansion, where it then fails, and yes, it also tries to equalise to atmospheric pressure at whatever elevation it is at, working against the balloon.
When weather balloons are launched, they look like a big saggy upside down tear-drop shape and as it rises in the atmosphere the atmospheric pressure decreases, letting the balloon expand continuously. Weather balloons can rise to an altitude of 24 miles (39 kilometers) or more before they burst, and a payload may land (via parachute) up to 75 miles (120 km) away, depending on wind conditions at the launch site.
Have a nice day, from Sydney Australia! 🦘🇦🇺🍺👍

Pressure was the same through out though, that’s the one thing that was wrong. And it was the same pressure on the inside and outside since the volume increased, if it was a fixed size then the pressure would increase

@Alex Wilson Incorrect, sorry. If it were true, dead bodies would have expanded lungs, they don't.
From the National Institute of Health.
      "The muscles used for breathing
The lungs are like sponges; they cannot expand (get bigger) on their own. Muscles in your chest and abdomen contract (tighten) to create a slight vacuum around your lungs. This causes air to flow in. When you exhale, the muscles relax and the lungs deflate on their own, much like an elastic balloon will deflate if left open to the air."

I'm wondering how to tie this kind of balloon if you were going to use it rather than pop it lol
