What Koreans Think of Foreigners in Korea

  • Dipublikasikan tanggal 27 Sep 2016
  • The amount of foreigners coming to Korea yearly, has increased manifold over the last decade. With so many non-Koreans now living in Korea we often hear of what foreigners in Korea think of the country and its people, but what do Koreans think of this relatively recent influx of foreigners? We took our cameras around Seoul and asked friends and strangers alike what they thought about a multi-cultural Korea :)

The best thing to do is not mess with someone else's culture if you're visiting their country. Be respectful of their traditions and don't put your thoughts and values on them. Try to learn some of their language. I always find that you get a lot more help and people feel happy when they hear a foreigner speak their language, even if it's just a little.

I realized while listening to this, they could have been Americans talking about other Americans from different states. Like Texans vs New Yorkers, for example. America is so vast, there are cultures that differ so much as to seem foreign.

1:37 when i was in korea this last time... idk if it's because it was raining, but the boy infront of me held the door for me. i don't think i noticed that much before and i've been maybe 5 times prior in the past.... 5 years. but i just remember thinking that he was very polite and well mannered.

I think only reason Koreans think that way because majority of travellers in Korea are from China. Like if you meet travellers in Korea, they are mostly chinese. As a Korean, I don't think chineses are more loud and dirty than other country ppl. But certainly many Koreans have prejudices about chinese and i was that Korean too. I feel sorry about that and hope that all Koreans have more open sights.

One morning in Seoul, I'm talking like 1:00am, there were still quite a lot of people out and about, but I happened across two drunk Korean businessmen, who were so drunk, that they were leaning up against each other to keep from falling over lol. I often wonder how they were able to get out of bed and go to work later that morning... Or if they even made it to their homes!

Philippines is just a third world country and has so much trouble in it but the people are hospitable and friendly. Smiling to strangers in a friendly way, holding the door open for anybody or sharing food or blessing is just too normal in the Philippines.

Legit I think the only thing that comes to might when they hear "non-Asian foreigners" are white people, Russian women and America. I'm American but I wish they would specify the questions and not just say "Foreigner".

I'm an Army myself. But BTS's company sell a fantasy to make money. Think longterm. Think a year ahead living in Korea...you will realize BTS won't help you in any way. That's like coming to the USA for Beyonce. If you can't even think of 5 longterm reasons why you want to move to a new country , you shouldn't go.
If you go to Korea for a heavily manifactured fanatsy , please....prepare to be disappointed.

Every human being has different personality and well being act in society.
His nationality and races can't reflect each person on earth.
If you know all the prejudices that cab happen to you in korea, and know how to act on it, i think you can have good time in there.

When you visit a country...don’t you doit because it is different than the country you come from? Yes, SSSSOOOOOO respect a person’s RACE, CREED AND CULTURE. RESPECT.
