I just hope and pray by the time he gets old he has saved a lot and hopefully could have a much easier job or business. God bless him for his hard work. Hope he could someone as helper.

@Wanda Sanders the hygiene standards in Japan are MUCH higher than most countries, especially the USA. Clean hands are just as good as gloves. Also, no state requires glove to prepare food that will be cooked. Every pizza you have ordered was likely made with clean ungloved hands...
They are on the street. Same customers daily...they are probably cleaner than 80% of places....if someone got sick they wouldn't come back, hitting business...probably Would be immediately shut down if they got someone sick. Unlike in my country, the USA...we don't really have any repercussions
If you think this is bad, NEVER eat at a mickydees

Peter Denton 4 bulan yang lalu

@Edilang Sultan The practice of cultural stereotyping is offensive and the term "western culture" is sufficiently broad as to be utterly meaningless. It's also worth pointing out that influencer culture isn't a western phenomenon. It is an Internet phenomenon.
The issues of income disparity, the rising cost of living, and the winnowing of the middle class are all very real and deeply problematic. The fact that it's getting harder and harder for people the world over to make ends meet, however, does not mean that it's right or accurate to generalize about the work ethic of huge swaths of the planet's population. If anything, the idea that it's harder to make ends meet means that many people in the world are having to work harder than ever. I'm not American but I've seen absolutely no evidence to support the idea that the average American isn't motivated to work. The fact that their health care system leaves them vulnerable to economic violence is an entirely separate issue.
Anyway, all of this has drifted a long way away from my initial comment. My point was that, by ANY objective measure of ANY culture, the gentleman featured in this video is incredibly resourceful, creative, and hard-working in the pursuit of his craft and I deeply admire him. I think it's possible to honour him for that without feeling the need to diminish others by engaging in offensive cultural stereotyping or by entertaining narrow-minded, uneducated comments from people who do.

@Chris Blake Trade-offs. In some countries people are willing to risk a little food poisoning in order to have cheap places to eat. In any case, the locals' immune systems tend to gear up and they can handle stuff we can't [if you think this is bad, try places like India, Thailand and many others] . Sometimes however, tourists try it and occasionally come down with Montezuma/Hirohito/Ghandi's revenge. But they soon toughen up too and these days I don't think too many people get too ill. You just need to be a bit more careful than at home.

Doing this day in, day out for years can only mean one thing: this man loves what he does. He's his own boss; his motivation coming from his passion for cooking. He couldn't care less if he has to run around setting up all by himself. I aspire to reach this man's level of fulfillment.

WELL SAID! There are many CLUELESS worker-mentality ppl commenting on this video who have no idea that this guy is galaxies ahead and better off than they are with their clock-in employee livelihoods. His QUALITY of life is better off than someone working in a skyscrapper office, and who is always under pressure to keep up or perform, stressed every day, takes work home and is truly has no serene peace of mind.

@sirarvs valdez Ah yes, the same copy paste you comment on every other comment when you have no clue about the guy in the video or anything else going on. Because while I don't know much about the guy personally in the video, I can tell just from what you comment over and over here that you are just another bum living off of the work and money of others because you will never have that kind of ethic. And that last part is a fact because you cannot even put in the time or effort to come up with something new, only cop and paste. Lazy.

How the hell do you know what he is thinking or what motivates him? Maybe he hates it, but has no other options right now and just wants to work hard to make money and find something better? Who knows? He didn't say anything about loving it.

@Herschel1738 I was about to write the same thing!
People like him work so hard and yet I have personally heard many times casual customers complain about how the food should be cheaper because it is not a restaurant and there is only 1 person operating it.
If they only appreciated how long they work and how little they actually earn because of the relatively few customers they can physically serve they would be embarrassed.

The invisible part is that he has to clean up, shop for ingredients & do the food prep each day after he closes up shop. The variety of dishes he offers is also amazing & makes it even more work. Most street stands sell only a few or even one item.

His art and Mastery is just astounding. His hard work (setting everything up by himself in record time just in time for the early bird customers) is incredible, add to that the seeming endless energy and strength to last him until evening. Every.Single.Day.
This man should be in Guinness records. Total respect!
P.S. I just don't understand why the video uploader NEVER mentioned the Chef's name, nor the shop's name. That's a disservice to the man, knowing that your videos get monetized. Least you can do is mention the name embedded on the video.

I have one shoe I wear most of the time. Not because I do t have others. Its because it knows my feet well. He might be able to build a newer one. But I feel like this stall works well with him. I feel like he knows this stall like the back of his hands. Judging by my relationship with my hood role reliable shoe, I would not change this food stall for no reason unless its falling apart.

I really did not see anything wrong with his set up. It has to be compact in order to move, provide seating for his customers, protect from the rain and it obviously works from the cooking end. Also, if that was his car he was unloading stuff from then he is doing ok
