Really I thought girl's love assholes and criminal looking guys well mostly here in the states. I don't know about South Korea but I do watch Kdrama were mostly all the guys that starts off is an an asshole to the main girl but slowly progress into a nice guy. Most notable boys over flowers and Playful Kiss.

γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹ I've been known to serenade women before but only women I've been seeing seriously and for an obvious romantic occasion, doing that randomly out of nowhere and on the first date or first couple of dates is really cringey and I feel like is something guys must do just to show case their egos γ…Žγ…Žγ…Ž

Something I have found interesting is the differences between "personal space" and "personal touching" in different cultures.
I'm not sure about personal space in Korea, but I found in Europe, that people are comfortable sitting closer together, where Americans are uncomfortable if people, even people they know, are too close to them. Whether it is a park bench, or standing on a bus, Americans expect their personal space to be respected, every though on a personal level we are a more "touchy" people in general. We reach out an touch our friends and family, sometimes for no particular reason at all. Not all people are like that, but many are.
It seems Koreans are the opposite? They will stand or sit closer to strangers more readily than Americans, but personal touching is only for specific situations and it is considered rude outside of those situations.

This video brought a number of things to mind. I may separate them so the post isn't too long.
First, even in America where I'm from, we are a multi-cultural country. Even one small town can have a number of sub-cultures. This means that people have different levels of comfort zones. So dating can be tricky and requires sensitivity unless you know what that person is comfortable with already.
What I've notice, at least from K-dramas, is that Koreans are more open to saying, "that makes me uncomfortable" or even asking if it makes them uncomfortable.
In the US, we are more likely to smile and go along with most things, but will make a point to never be with that person again.
Perhaps this is because we are such a large country that it is fairly easy to avoid people.

Personally, I like head pats/rubs and the wiping the whipped cream off her mouth thing. I think things like that are really romantic and cute. Though if after a first date a guy offered to take me home I would say no. But I like it when he at least offers to take me home. If he at least offers to take me home I like it. I also really like cringy lines like "oh you have something on your face...beauty"

If a guy tries to be romantic, it will fail. Romance is a symptom of real love. If a guy is genuinely in love with you, his behaviour will just naturally seem romantic, even though he never actually intended to make you feel that way.

The oppa thing isn't as Korean as you may think. There is a number of peoples in France who refere to themself as a "he" and it's quiet annoying. too.
Also, the dude showing up at a date wearing a T-shirt with his face on it is kinda the next level of narcissism lol
Also, also, Even in my country where we're kinda touchy in nature, touching a woman's face without asking for permission first could potentially lead to getting your cheek slaped so, I can understand why it's not okay for a Korean lady.
It's fine here though, just, we clearly need to ask if it's okay first.

Super cringey scenarios there. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ Some men are the same all over the world. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ They think they are impressing you but they are really sending up red flags by the handful by doing these things. I’m sure men can share some equally cringe-worthy tales about dating, too. 😳

While most of what was said here is reasonable, two things left me perplexed: 1) Why would any girl stick around for a second date with a guy who mistreated service staff or exhibited bullying behavior to those weaker than himself? In my opinion, a girl who would date a guy like that is just as unsavory as her man. 2) Unless I somehow misunderstood, Jina stated that she went on a date with a gay man. What sense is there in that? If what she really meant was that she had a friendly outing with a gay guy, then okay. That doesn’t qualify as a date, though. Dating inherently includes romantic, or at the very least, sexual, interest. Apart from simple friendship, why waste each other’s time? Lastly, we fellows got mixed messages from the both of you about if we should take you home after an initial date or not. Rachel thinks it’s uncomfortable and dangerous to be driven home by a non-boyfriend (which is logical), while Jina thinks that it shows a lack of interest to not drive her home. It’s not that two girls can’t express different opinions, it’s that this video is purported to explain behavior that Korean girls in general find unappealing in men. I can only think that the best action would be to tell the girl that you wouldn’t mind seeing her home, but that you wouldn’t be offended if she declined. Videos like these are ultimately helpful to single men, but I don’t believe there is really a consensus among women about what turns them off. My example of this would be that I had a girlfriend that would regularly ask me to put my hand on her head (but not in public, of course). Although the frequency of it was a bit strange, it didn’t bother me to do so, as she felt it comforting, and I considered it affectionate. Then again, she wasn’t Korean, so I suppose the example doesn’t qualify here. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoy your videos, Rachel. I glean useful cultural insight and much laughter from them. Also, I find it incredible how very much like a native English speaker that you communicate. Apart from a teensy bit of accent (which I find appealing), it seems as though English is your first language. Truly impressive, and a hallmark of superior intelligence. And, no, I don’t think you secretly want to be a White girl. That is something that only a moron would surmise. If only I could someday master Korean the way you have conquered the nuances of English. How very enriching that would be.
