We all know they will still do the traditional wedding style regardless of what this video says. No red dress will be worn and rings will be given.

Kinda funny how brides make a big deal about choosing a dress when they all just choose the same unflattering sleeveless white dress

None of this goes too far into the pre-christian origins of any of these things. It should be called "The christian origins of wedding stuff: Evil spirits edition".... The Honey Moon was Norse in Origin a groom would keep Honey mead hidden away until the first full moon after a wedding. If it was discovered by the bride or if it was consumed at an inappropriate time it was a sign of a cursed marriage. It prophesied bad luck.

The reason white dresses are so popular is because Queen Victoria wore one. Simple.

My great-great-great grandad kidnapped his bride/ my great-great-great grandmom who was the niece of the king, I believe. Like you said, it was culture to kidnap your bride.

I'm of the "Do what makes you feel happy and special" school. If a floofy white dress makes you happy, go for it. If having coed bridal attendants makes you happy, do it. If getting married in jeans does it for you, good for you.

I’m sorry to say but the veil thing is wrong.
The reason is in biblical times Rebbecca and Jacob were going to be married and It wasn’t “appropriate “ to see the husband before marriage so it was to shield the eyes.

This like makes me not want to do a lot of normal wedding things now ... all the things that 'support' women being owned and forced into things. Obviously that's not what any of that means today, but.
Good thing no one wants to marry me anyways.

Another reason for the bouquet and having weddings in June: in the 1800s, people took baths only once a year, particularly in May. By June people started to smell hence having the bouquet to ward off the smell
