10 years later, everyone has a phone. crazy to think that a decade ago this was insanely revolutionary, and look how far we have come
edit: i know that 2007 to 2022 isnt 10 years, but im trying to say that there was a huge jump in what phones can do in just a decade. its not that 2007 to 2022 was just 10 years smfh

The thing is, we are at a point now where we hardly could use any more gadgets or apps..
I mean what do you want now, which could possibly make day to day life easier? Flying cars? Time traveling?
Back then it was more straight forward, running around with your Nokia 3310 and the iPod in your pocket.. It was obvious to combine them, when technology had evolved enough to make it possible.
All I'm saying is, Apple were at the right place at the right point in time.
It's not like they invented electricity or discovered quantum physics.

Watching a video from 2007 in 2022 and I can feel the excitement for some reason. On top of that, I am a huge apple hater. However, had Steve Jobs stayed alive, I would have probably end up having an Iphone at some point. I love how he slams the stylus because it is small, easy to lose, and it is just not necessary, we have something better, our hands. It's like everything said and done in this video is completely the opposite of what apple is today. Today's apple tries to make their consumers spend on the smallest things. It is all thanks to Steve Jobs hard work that apple has such a loyal community. Then he goes and claims that the first Iphone was 5 years ahead of any other phone at that time. Meanwhile, today's rotten apple releases a new phone every year and we can all easily predict what is going to be: Same design with an apple at the back, probably another camera, slightly better specs, higher price. Such a shame they did this to his company.

Regardless of what you think about apple of today, this was indeed a watershed moment and defined the way the mobile industry went for the next decade or more. The iPhone defined apps, mobile UIs, the hardware and functionality standards expected of mobile devices. It started the movement to bridge the gap and blur the boundary between mobile and desktop devices. Every other company was playing catchup for years with this thing. And whatever mobile device you are using to watch this video owes its existence to this presentation. This is without getting into the social and cultural impacts that smart mobile devices had. It felt like from 2006, as a species, our relationship with technology and digital communication went up a notch.

Interesting to look back on this. I was in high school when this happened and I feel like people didn't grasp how different the phone market would be in only 3 years. Cant say Jobs was wrong. Every modern phone essentially is based on the original iPhone design basics still. One of the few times a product reveal actually was as revolutionary as it was said to be. Apple seems to have lost that spirit. Funny enough Steve Jobs predicted they would, at least in concept. When you arent hungry you hardly hunt at all.

@Optimusbauer oh i'll give credit where credit is due, the man was definitely an innovator when he had the passion for it but I feel like the dollars too priority over foresight after a while, just like the release of the iphone, by early 2010's it was all basically the same shit with the word new slapped on it.

Say what you want, but the iPhone is one of man's greatest inventions. It has taken everything that was annoying about early cell phones, eliminated them, and replaced it with a an easy-to-use system. It's basically like a laptop in your pocket. Also, after dropping mine on the concrete way too many times, it stills works, so it also has durability.

A long time ago the Apple’s spot was: “Get more, pay less” now, unfortunately, it’s the opposite get less pay more. I think with the death of Steve Jobs the Apple has gotten very bad. I have never been an Apple fan, but I recognise that Apple had made some of the best elettronic devices. I hope Apple will be like it used to be when Steve was stil alive.
R.I.P. Steve Jobs, one of the most important people in terms of technology.

They don't let the people the scientist and others to invent or produce something before they have control over it.
They don't let the world to go with its default development speed when they can't earn money from something or when they loose their power because of that technology.
