Yessireee It will cost you $15 in supplies, minimum, to save a $1.00 CD. (6:33) Now, that's what I call smart conservation and economics. I know that's what it will cost because I just spent that to save a dozen spotted tee shirts. Same type of supplies!! (lace, rosettes, glue gun, glue, plus a half yard of fabric)
Peggy - Sure!! Assuming that every single house that has a computer is a dyed in the wool crafter's house. Odds are, though, both husband and wife have to work to pay for that house, not to mention keep their kids fed, clothed and geared up for their activities. If you have the supplies, congratulations. Otherwise, it's just not worth that kind of expense. Odds are you are better off erasing the disks and reusing them.
But real crafters can adapt her ideas using supplies we already have!!

@Bluegrass Beauty I also used some in the past tied with string to sticks to scare the birds away from veggie seeds in the garden. Most stuff nowdays is digital so i dont have problems with cds anymore.
The funny things we do as humans. I love it.
Andrea P - That part of the vid "disappeared" so I wonder how many scissors were wrecked. Or CDs shattered. Or fingers punctured!! Instead of screwing around with buying lace, or pearls, or glitter, etc., hell, just use an old blouse, or teeshirt, or jeans, etc., cut out a few circles and glue the fabric to the CDs. Absorbent and non stick coasters galore. Frankly, I prefer paper towels. I dry them and reuse them. lol And I erase my CDs and reuse those too.
@Tacks Scherbo LOL There is no way in hell you can cut one of those with scissors, they are damned tough. I've just realized i've had that cd on my desk for about 20 years.
