Mysterious Congo - In the Realm of the Great Apes

  • Dipublikasikan tanggal 11 Jan 2022
  • The Congo, mighty and deep like no other river - yet still a retreat and a habitat for several of our world's strangest animals. Our closest relatives live deep inside the dense jungles: three of the four giant ape species have made the Congo basin their home. Rich in extraordinary footage, the second episode of "Myths of the Congo" also presents exciting insights into one of the most mysterious and dangerous regions on earth.

All animals amaze me, something about gorillas, chimps, and really all monkeys/apes make me adore them. I wanna live near those types of forests filled with primates.

wow, this documentary actually taught me something. I had no idea that Bonobos ate meat, i thought they were pure fruit and vegetable eaters, unlike their monkey hunting cousins the common chimp. Great documentary!

Compare to Gorilla, human baby is almost motionless first months, starts walking at around 10 months or later, continue being non-independent for several years. Can't imagine human ancestors being able to defend babies from leopards without tools, very large groups and city-like structures for years while babies develop.

The Third: The emergence and unfolding of those countless creatures, in their hundreds of thousands of different shapes and forms, each of which is a miracle of wisdom, their emergence from eggs and drops of water called sperm that are identical with each other or closely resemble each other, and are limited and finite in number, all this in the most orderly, symmetrical and unfailing fashion, is so brilliant a truth as to be illumined with proofs and evidences as numerous as the animals themselves. . By the consensus of these three truths, all the species of animals are engaged together in testifying that “There is no god but He.” ; It is as if the whole earth, like a great man, were saying “There is no god but He” in a manner befitting its vastness, and conveying its testimony to the dwellers of the heaven. The traveller saw this and understood it perfectly. By Bediuzzaman said Nursi. The supreme sign.

Harem does not mean a place full of women that you will be able to mate with.
Harem means a forbidden area for men to get in, in the ottoman palace.
With a different saying : A girls zone that they trained worked educated with many knowledges and for employing in the palace etc.

I was a little confused as to why the male chimps put all that effort Into tracking down that female to reprimand and beat her.
I've seen other docs where females will wander off Into small sometimes family sub groups for weeks, then returning to the group to greet and bond, then wander off again.
Maybe that's with more larger groups. Maybe the alpha male in this doc only has a couple females and wants them to stay close???
