All of my PC builds are old gamers throw outs I don't need them for games. I run DAW software.
I just need the fastest CPU and the most amount of ram I can get my hands on an 3rd or4th gen I5 or I7 with 8gb + of ram a couple fast drives and your away. You can run a pretty good muic system with that.

13:22 "What if it was an old game that doesn't run on Windows 10?" Then you install Linux as a secondary OS and play it there through Steam Play or Wine. This is a pretty funny thing that I noticed lately. A lot of old Windows games don't work W10 but work just fine on Linux, even if they were never even considered for that OS at all. Weird... but at least we can be sure they will not just disappear forever.

I got a free 2.6B Northwood out of a Dell along with a few cheap Duron PC's from a place I worked for that was going out of business. That 2.6B was a FREAK overclocker. I put it in an Abit IC7-G, and the thing hit 3.6GHz on STOCK voltage. It hit a voltage wall at 3.9GHz where it was stable with 1.62v and a Thermalright XP-90. I also got the 4GHz club screenshot on a cool night, but it wasn't stable at 1.65v. I had a lot of guys with 3.2GHz 2.4C's wondering if they made the right choice.

part 2 I forgot to note COSMOS II case is a monster size enough room to put any CPU cooler you want. more then enough room to put what ever you want. WHAT EVER YOU WANT.. AIR COOL NO PROBLEM WATER COOL NO PROBLEM. the biggest of the biggest will fit. its too bad NEWEGG dose not sell it any more I can understand why. ULTRA + + TOO BIG and ULTRA + + + + + + HEAVY
shipping is going to be a nightmare. I had to open the top lid of the box and roll the box up side down and lift the box to get the tower out of the box then roll the tower up right. its so tight cannot lift it out of the box.

why did you get the COOLER MASTER COSMOS II CASE? it was designed with the finest racing automotive design, while at the same time its a GODZILLA GAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMING TOWER ULTRA + +. it dose not come with one cd/dvd/bluray drive port. not two. However it comes with three of them, and a insane 15 hard drive trays that is you do not use a screw driver. the roll cage is there for the legs and a handle bars to inch it in place. its weight is also GODZILLA. 70 pounds

CAS 2.. I remember running CAS 1.5 (maybe 1?) on AMD64 with the INFAMOUS TwinMos BH5 chips. Just crank the voltage and they would do (for that time) totally incredible things and the king of all benchmark dick measuring was SuperPi 1M and it was ALL about RAM speed and the lowest latencies imaginable. Just be able to boot and run a 1M SuperPi before it would crash..
Opteron 144-146s for that ultimate stepping. Chips that had a base clock of 1800MHz that would out-OC 3200+ consumer chips to 2.8-3GHz depending on whether you were going for SuperPi only or just a high OC in general.. And if you weren't going for water cooling you had a Thermaltake Big Typhoon 4 that sparked huge debates about if they were safe because of their size and urban myths about them snapping motherboards in half. And that one year EPOX had the best motherboard out there... Oh so many memories of the nForc2 (gen 2 right?) VIA were rattled by Nvidia just stepping in and saying "we can do better chipsets than you and succeeding so quickly..DFI LANParty had some awesome OC motherboards out at that time now looking back at it.
I want to know more about the BH5 DDR chips and how they came agout that' why I want some background stories about.

Definitely need a sound card, auzentech for extra oldschool points. God i lusted over those things back in the day. Early watercooling for sure, with cathodes and some oldschool peripherals and maybe an early lcd monitor too?
I know it's a year or two later but a killer network card would be kinda cool too.

Cold cathode (green fluorescent tubes if water cooled), unnecessary coolers (side panel fan, hdd cooler), 21'' screen (deeper than wide), wobbly LAN cable with broken hook, "5.1" headset with bass rumbling, Logitech MX500. And run some more of the old games, it just triggers your memory.

I think you should make another desk case or modify the one you already built and use a large screen TV panel as the desk's top like the snowblind case's side panel. and have an animated desktop. hell, using a touchscreen for the desk top would be cool as hell too if possible..
