Want to know a HISTORICAL FACT? The term NAZI, is shorthand for National SOCIALIST. Which was the name of Adolf Hitler’s political party. Educate yourself, look it up.

I have a bit of D-Day story to tell. If you can, please read and enjoy.

My best friend is the daughter of a German Jewish man and woman that escaped from Nazi Germany and came to the United States. Her parents fought long and hard, but they learned English and then as soon as he could, her father joined the US Military and went back to fight to free his people.

He was there at Normandy too. On D-Day, as a fellow combat medic. This Jewish survivor of Nazi hell was now in another hell, but like so many others, he did his duty. He survived, and saw not only France free of Nazi control, he lived to see the end of Hitler, the freeing of his people and he came back to America to his wife and two daughters.

This man went on to become an accountant in Miami Florida, and through everything, his family survived and thrived and got a chance to live the American dream, but he wasn't done serving yet. He served as an accountant in the poorest sections of Miami to the African American, Latino, and Cuban communities, helping others live their own American dream.

Sadly my best friends father, this incredible man and his wife are not with us anymore, but my best friend and I live together in the house that he and his wife purchased near Tampa. I see his picture everyday. I've seen his medal's. I've seen paperwork both in English and German and passports. I've seen only a portion of what this former Persecuted, Hunted, and eventually Triumphant great man accomplished in his life, and I never got a chance to meet him ... but he is one of my own greatest heroes.

My own father was drafted into Vietnam, served his two years, then reenlisted to go back to Vietnam. After his service he met my mother and had me. My father stayed in the Army for years later after his service in Vietnam and in 1979, my mother and I joined my father in Bremerhaven Germany. I was 4 years old.

I attended Bremerhaven Elementary school as my father continued to serve his country as a dietary chef at a Red Cross there. Now I am 42 years old, and my earliest memories in life involved the German people. The people of Bremerhaven were kind, amazing and great people. I remember the beautiful German winter, a few words of German, and those wonderful German pastry chef's.

Now, all these years I sit, one hour after the end of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, watching this video, celebrating and seeing the last of America's Greatest heroes receive a small part of the glory and honor they deserve and wishing there were more surviving heroes to honor.

Because of my heroes. My best friend's father, my own, and every other American and Allied soldier that soldier that ever fought in these terrible wars .... Here I sit telling you this story. Who am I? I'm a descendant of a French family who came to America 2 generations before The Greatest who gave their lives to free my families homeland.

I never joined the service, but I know better than most, and just as well as some the horrors of war and I feel so much gratitude to Every. Single.Veteran that I was able to live free. Because of them I lived to to see the fall of the Berlin Wall, and Germany reunited and as one of America's greatest Allies.

This is the end of my story and there are so many others that have been told, and need to be told. Even stories that haven't been told yet, and hopefully one day will be. For now all I can do is say Thank You, WWII Veterans. All that live, have lived and are still with us in spirit and memory. Thank you all for ensuring the freedom and liberty of the world 75 years ago, and who ensure it now.

God Bless Freedom, Liberty and and may many generations to come continue to enjoy what so many brave heroes died and lived for.

    Shawn Saint.

      Don't believe Macron !! He's not thinking a word he's saying , he's a total
hypocrite believe me . He's not even able to deliver a speech of this importance
without reading his book . He doesn't give a damn about people who lost their
lives . What macron just wants , is to just to please , seduce , stay in power
and get richer and richer with his
team on the back of decent French citizens . Hence the Gilets Jaunes ( Yellow Vests ) movement .

    • Mazir Soufik
Mazir Soufik Bulan Yang lalu +1

@Sham Teal Absolutely right...there's a lot a books about the bravey of S.O.E and resistances ( Norvegian, Belgium, France, Netherlands , Italy and....Germany )...lot of women gave their lifes ....a war has to be won on the ground doubt ... but knowing the locations of fortifications, factories or airfields ... knowing which trains to attack , which bridges to destroy at a time when there are no satellites could not depends solely on photographic reconnaissance flights (very dangerous ) and limited by distances ( fuel ) and very often the weather ... but furthermore it was important to know WHERE to send this type of mission ... few films tell the story of these women of the shadows ... tortured ... deported or's a real to believe that a war can only be won with brave soldiers on a beach whose choice is based only on chance is definitively the product of a regrettable ignorance.... or a stupid brainshit.

Jason VoorheesCZSKFR Just remember that what I‘m saying is the perspective of an observer. I know why Czechoslovakia and Poland were so frustrated with their Allies leading to the worst crimes against humanity carried out by the Germans seemingly without France or Britain paying any attention and even after „liberation“ they were subjugated under communism for over 40 years still without any assistance from the Western Allies now including the USA; I can only offer condolences however. I hope that today‘s NATO and the USA won‘t turn away from any nation, no matter how small, threatened or even actually invaded and that we don’t make the same mistakes that Britain and France did throughout the 30‘s.

A date that shall forever be remembered as a pivotal moment in human history. The battle that was fought on this day forever changed humanity. This day we must come together and put aside pollitics. We must remember the sacrifices made upon the alter of Freedom and thank those who plunged themselves into a hellscape few of us can imagine. The United States must be a beacon of Freedom and liberty and honor the lives layed down for the world. To the men who payed the price I thank you. Your sacrifice shall never be forgot. Beautiful words have been spoken today by our leaders. Let us hope they never forget. Long live France and long live the Constitution of the United States.

Odd that my Father and Uncle, WWII Veterans, a Veteran myself, has no issue with the President's speech. What you should be more disgusted about is the woman sitting behind him that is rudely disrespecting the Flag that we all fought for. She is directly violating the US Flag Code.

@Chris Davis US's biggest nightmare is China and Russia's newfound alliance.
Russia was deliberately not invited and this event.
This exclusion backfires on the West and force China and Russian getting even closer.
From now on Huawei is going to be Russian’s tech tool.

    • Emily Sophia
      Emily Sophia Bulan Yang lalu

@Chris Davis Why did they invite the German Chancelor Merkel and she sat on the first row on the photo op? The Germans started the WW2. Without the Germans, there shouldn't be a D Day to celebrate.

    • Ursula Leach

@Chris Davis exactly but unfortunately some people are too stupid to know that.

    • Emily Sophia
      Emily Sophia Bulan Yang lalu

@Chris Davis They’d have invited the Russians on this special event since 27 million Russians were killed during the WW2, the next closest country in WW2 was China, 20 million. That's 47 million deaths between those two countries which is more than the total of all the other WW2 deaths of every single country in the world combined.

MAGA! DEMOCRATS keep accusing our President of being "DIVISIVE"... Just think about this simple example for just a second:
"When you take apart and separate the rotten potatoes from the healthy ones what are you? YOU'RE A DIVISIVE POTATO HANDLER! There are historical moments in a Nation's History when being "DIVISIVE" is not just NECESSARY but PATRIOTIC TOO!

For those who ignore the sacrifice that these brave men did, and bring politics to this day of remembrance you are disgusting. This day is to remember the fallen, and survivors who dispatched on the great crusade to end the tyrannical reign of the nazi regime.

      @Sam Houston
You fool, they fought exactly for this multicultural globalist world. The upcoming
of national socialism in Germany was a reaction to this very same agenda to oppose
it. Read the work of Dr. William Pierce please.

    • Su sanne

@Sam Houston The war was a direct consequence of countries being scared of anything and anyone they defined as "foreign" and murdering anyone they defined as "foreign".
The soldiers we remember here came to foreign countries relying on foreigners' information and trusting foreign soldiers to fight with them.
Peace was then and is now very much an international effort.

    • Sam Houston

Except for everything that those men fought and sacrificed all for, is now under a dire threat of being destroyed. The Western wold is, very much, in a similar fight for our existence as a Free Land. Difference is, our current enemy of despots are not a rogue nation but an enemy deeply entrenched into our own nations. Entrenched by our own countrymen/women in a treacherous march to the 4th Reich of globalism.

The 75th anniversary of D-Day included US, Canadian and European leaders came together
to defeat Germany. The German Chancellor Angela Merkel was invited. But they did not invite China and Russia who collectively lost 47 million people more than the total of all the other WW2 deaths in the world combined.
Their exclusion backfires on the West and force China and Russian getting even closer.

What she forgot to mention it was uncle Joe Stalin who took the brunt and was fighting two thirds of the nazis on one front... From 1941.....
