Buy some modern phones. Quit recording on flip phone from 2006
Cleanup your mess.
The thumbnail for this snippet... LOL, I... can't... even...
That truck is pig ugly lololol Big fail. I drew that truck when I was 6 years old lolololol
you were a good truck drawer when you were 6
Looks like shit. Everything great about it could have been done with a beautiful looking vehicle. Musk s'posed to be saving the world by getting all the ICE pickups off the road. Not with this shit :(
It's so ugly that nobody will buy it
Might be ugly but you're trippn
Except the site crashed for a bit from so many preorders already...
Wtf is that. Hideous
The thumbnail for this video says it all.
If thats the Truck. Wheres the zombies
Let's hope it has bioweapon defense mode
Love the looks, but what if you need a ladder rack? Normally they are placed on the roof, but that may be an issue for this. Also it's important to be able to change the bed to fit the industry. This is not really a work truck, but I guess it fits as a family truck.
@Totavo I am reading this in the year 2025. Tesla's Cybertruck is now the number one pickup truck in the world, and has been increased in range to over 600 miles via OTA updates... It also now comes in 6 different colors including clear!
@JustWasted3HoursHere I hope I am wrong on my points, but who knows what the future will bring, except for the people reading this in the future!
Good points. This truck is very niche, that's true. A lot can change between now and when it goes into production, though.
The most lackluster and anticlimactic presentation in every way. So very disappointing. Might be a great off road vehicle but not a great utility pick up truck with a 6.5 ft. bead. I am basically stunned. Rivian will be so happy with this. Elon just handed them a win on a platter.
@Miguel lopez that guy is blind, this is like 2x the performance per dollar
wtf kinda bed do you think you need? lmao 6.5 is big.
@AZOffRoadster it has 3 motors and 500 mile range for 70K.
Rivian has 4 motors, this just two. Open-diff+brakes don't compare. Sides of the bed are sub-optimal for loading up firewood. Are those hubcaps or wheels hanging way outside the tire? Those won't last long where I go.
You assume elon intended this to be a mass market car, he warned people for months about its design choice, not his fault everyone blew the car to maximum expectations.
No matter how many Tesla fans (I am one of them) are going to hype this version, it is visually very disappointing. The price and features are excellent
Ben Crandall look, i do agree it isn’t pretty at first and when it rolled out i was like, really? But watching the people who road in it in their live streams and seeing that at least from inside it is pretty cool, the lighting in the truck bed is awesome, seriously fun. Seeing that he has planned a great deal of extras like a tent cover for the back for camping for me personally. Having full power anywhere always. It starts to grow on you quickly. And finally when i pictured it as the warthog from Halo, suddenly i got into it more. ;)I get the aesthetics don’t work out of box but they do grow on you, so wondering how i will see it in a month or so. And also realize that yea, as u said, i think they put functionality first. For instance having a way to cover the back with a powered metal cover meant it had to fold somewhere and connecting the roof to the bed allows that. Which is a good deal of the look change. If they did round the corners out some more and painted it black be currious how much i would like that instead.I think they save a tone of money by building it as it is. So if, as a choice l, i had to choose between this design and one that was painted with rounded corners but cost me 10-15k more i would choose it as is... :)So yea, it isn’t a design that wows on first glance, but give it a month or a year and be interesting to see. I do like it better then at least half the trucks on the market.Long cab GM’sc Ford’s, and worst Chrysler’s are hiddeous, which this is seat wise, so when i compare against this...www.chryslerdodgejeepramofcolumbia.net/inventory/new-2018-ram-2500-laramie-4x4-4d-extended-cab-3c6ur5nl6jg370767Like honestly, I would take the Tesla any day... and i bet after we see these being used many people will start to realize that is the case...
@The Journey The funny part about this is I agree with everything you've said (for the most part). Taking maintenance into consideration and gas is the thing that really excites me about EVs in the first place. I wanted to have my next truck be this Tesla truck. But I cannot buy something that looks this hideous. Maybe I am looking at this thing wrong though. Maybe I should look at this as the roadster sales model. Release something that's not for the masses then down the road dial it back so that most people will accept it. Maybe the cybertruck is just the prototype and the successive models after it will be more in line with reality. That doesn't change my opinion that it is a stupid idea but none the less it makes me understand it more. That's my whole issue with it. It does seem to be a great truck. But why did they have to make it so ugly?
I am obviously tired of the insane short sellers pushing lies all across Tesla events in the comments sections and there was someone who did the research awhile back who tracked down a ton of the accounts pushing bad comments under Tesla announcements and they all were heavy short sellers, so i appologize that i did accuse you of that, but that is honesty because my chances were higher that it was true. But fair enough you personally are not in that category. I totally take that as fair critic. So serious conversation. I understand this is going to be a hard sell to the average american worker. That is totally true, some farmer who needs to haul hay bales, or someone who needs to work for long days out in the wilderness far from electricity. That is not the market though. But the truck market is gigantic in North America and because this also has a 6 seat arrangement, it can work as a suv for families, it is amazing for camping. Perfectly silent when u are driving in the backroads looking for deer or bears, etc. For those workers who work out of the back of there truck, like many people do, this works well. Full power that can last all day no problem on site, it has built in compressor which is amazing for so many trades. It has a lockable back that will protect your tools way better then all other trucks unless you buy an extra several thousand dollar stainless steel lockbox for your f150 which brings the price up. Gas vs EV wise you are looking at a price difference of likely 1/3 of the price of gas vs the cost of electricity From the specs you are looking at a mile per gallon equivalent of over 100 MPGe, tell me as gas prices continue to climb that is not attractive as hell. Then there is the cost of mechanical parts and maintenance. Franky this is where ev’s destroy regular combustion engines. There are literally no moving parts on a ev vehicle except the wheels and the axel. There is no driveshaft, no gearing, no pistons, none of that shit that breaks down, ev’s will last three to four times as long as a regular combustion vehicle. So the difference investing in a gas guzzler which in 10-15 years when the climate change is ridiculous to even pretend is not happening any longer, and is not already happening fast will be insanely apparent if it shouldn’t be already.. It is going to be a bad day to have invested in gas anything in a decade. So the price when you consider everything is more likely closer to half that of a regular f150, just on the above alone. Now how long will these vehicles last on off roading is up in the air. If anyone can get it right out of the gate it is tesla. I used to live in Papua New Guinea as a kid, my father worked in mining so used to live in small towns here in North America; up near Alaskan border, and all over and then overseas and seen how trucks survive when beaten to sh- everyday. That mine in new guinea bought about 9 different brands of truck and drove them for two years on the hard rough roads fhere and all of them fell apart within 18 months some didn’t last a year, Ford F150, GM’s, etc all had their bolts flying off to the point they were repaired monthly because they were not made to last, the two vehicles that were the exception was the Toyota Landrover, and a not too distant second was the landrover discos for being able to take the abuse and not have all their bolts rattle lose from taking bumpy roads daily. So we will wait to see how this does, but likely not the market anyway for this Truck.Finaliy the autopilot, All Tesla vehicles by the time this truck ships will have full autopilot working. The new teslas are all being built and shipped with all the hardware and chips needed for full autopilot. So will this truck.Imagine driving to work, then turning on Tesla’s ride taxi program, which will auto drive your vehicle off and earn you money all day driving like a uber/taxi in that area while you work, then anytime you want it you call it back and head home. Having essentially earned two paychecks that day.So while i hear your position, hear mine. You will be financially better off having bought this vehicle then any other truck currently on the market. It is a significant difference. But i respect your opinion, and i am not trying to force this truck down someones throat who even simply doesn’t want to drive it for aesthetic preference, but i dislike the bs that this is not a functional vehicle. It 100% kills in cost over lifetime by an insane margin, and it has a ton of features that many trades people will find super productive and essential after they start using it. It isn’t for the entire f150 market, and i doubt many farmers will want to be the first in a small town to own one. But it is honestly a great addition to the market for many buyers...
@The Journey I'm not a "short seller" and I'm not a "Tesla fan" either. I'm a regular normal person. I like Tesla because I think the auto industry needs someone like Tesla to push them towards EVs.Just so I'm clear here your argument is that the specs on paper matter the most right? That normal truck owners (like myself) will only look at the specs and make our purchasing decision on that alone correct? I just want to be clear where you are coming form.See this is the issue. I am a normal person. Not some spammer, troll, short seller or whatever. I work in the trades. I use my truck daily for actual work. Not to just drive to the grocery store in. I don't need my truck to do more. Nobody I work with needs their trucks to do more. Another words I (and the MAJORITY of truck owners) don't need better specs. Would we like better specs? Sure. But that's not the end all be all. Current trucks are more than capable to do the things we need to do in them. As far as costs go. I think the Tesla truck is a great price. But you argue that an F150 is far more expensive than the Cybertruck. That is simply not true. A base model F150 can be had for under 30k. I bought my base Ram 1500 for 26k new. I feel like "Tesla fans" get personally offended when some criticizes or questions the company. I'm not trying to single anybody out or say "you are an idiot if you buy this thing!" I'm simply pointing out what the majority of normal everyday truck owners think. All we want is a normal looking electric truck. It's really that simple.
It destroys in the functional specs and for practicality you literally have to be stuck in 1940 not to see the huge benefits of this truck. It has an onboard compressor setup to be used for work, so dry wallers etc can use the onboard compressor on many jobs. Second it can easily power all your tools all day long. Charges on regular power as well as super chargers. Has a 500mile limit and by the time it ships that will be higher, if not crazily so. It is cheaper by far than gas guzzling f150 etc.Yes it looks like a low poly vehicle, but because of that design it has built in power closing roof over its bed. Esentially a way better can design. It is hela functional, and so stop the bs that is doesn’t compete. Darn short sellers pretending to be tesla fans but just push bs.
