Scammers make thousands of calls every day hoping someone will allow them access to a computer. They use all sorts of social engineering and tricks to convince you to trust them. The videos on my channel show various techniques used by scam call centers to target victims. From gift cards to cryptocurrency, they'll take anything they can from you.
My hope is that through watching and laughing at the absurd situations I put scammers through, you will be more aware of what to look out for!
Please consider sharing some of these with your friends.

Oh my god he accidentally hit onto something real when talking about his son. I 100% believe this man has a six year-old son that he loves and wants him to have a better life, but he continues being a criminal because he believes the ends justify the means. It's like a summation of the rabbit hole of crime.

    • betp
betp 9 hari yang lalu +1

@Mali Renthlei they weren't making excuses for the scammer.
on the contrary, i think acknowledging the fact that they're real people makes the manipulative crimes they commit stand out more: these aren't monsters, these aren't sociopathic sadists, these are regular guys who choose to rob the elderly.
they rationalize it - i have to provide for my son and show him that sometimes you have to make tough decisions, americans are rich anyway, if somebody is stupid enough to fall for a scam they deserve to fall for a scam, etc etc etc.
these are just normal guys who are doing a terrible, terrible thing, over and over. the fact that they routinely fall for the sunk cost fallacy is proof of that, if nothing else.

      @callawaymotorcompany No, I think you misread what I wrote, I mentioned :
" The scammer industry that you are trying desperately to defend is equally as harmful as gas and other unsustainable industries. "
      I also mentioned :
" The truck, driller and other workers doing hard labor in industries that eventually lead to disaster is morally wrong "
And I closed it with this :
" but they chose that to provide for themselves and not by mere desire to scam others - scamming is the easy way out. "

Okay so I have been listening to you for a couple of years now. I work for Walmart and started listening when I was the manager in Produce. After getting from there to Garden and now the Front End manager where I am the manager over Customer Service, I am shocked at just how many people actually fall for these scams and end up in my store. In just six months I have had at least one every two weeks in just my store alone and I have used the information you provide and your channel in particular to teach people and save them from getting scammed. One recently I had a man with seven Apple cards he wanted to buy for 500$ a pop. Instantly suspicious but your video made me look down at what he was holding because I remember the scammers would have them stay on the phone while they are in the store. And there it was. He was on the line still. I saved this guy from losing everything. I directed him to your channel and told him to watch some of your videos to learn more about how these people work. Every scam I now get to stop is a credit to what you do. Thank you for everything you are doing and keep up the good work!

I used to work in the electronics dept and would have people come in all the time with the same thing. One lady was on the phone with the scammer and was already suspicious of him so I took the phone, called out the scammer and hung up. The guy called right back, but I explained to the lady what was going on and they didn't get any $ from her.

In the first call, you basically used the same aggressive and threatening scenario the scammers use, pretending to be a "bank official" or whatever official persona, and intimidating them, and it worked. At the end, he could barely say something and was noticibly stress and confused by the urgency of the situation, as a real victim could be.
Even a scammer can get scammed by their own and exact same techniques. It’s really weird.
    You videos are gems.

"No, No, No don't call the bank" scammer says? If your going to scam, maybe don't ask and answer your own questions! Time to be bright, we've seen too many 2W lightbulbs called James, Michael, Tom, Robert, Tim, and the rest those who talk while their caught in a power failure? Scammer wants, at all cost something, anything as a (Hail Marry) scam reward? My Dad, a scammer, a thief, a liar, and his son has him as a Hero example? Then we hear the trust he's taught "I don't trust my son and wouldn't put my cash in his account". Thanks Kitboga.

@tomatodamashi I usually just see them trying to say they knew the whole time or just generally defending their ego by any means necessary. There’s something that changes the dynamic when they realize they’ve had an audience the whole time, as in a lot of the time they get a “guest star of the episode” energy and the hours of their life they’ve lost isn’t seeming pointless any more, like they’re no longer just screaming into the void.

@brunoais Revealing is ALWAYS anti-climatic. I really don't see the point. At most they are confused/don't believe it. Mostly they just hang up and the fun is over. Occasionally you may get some swear words out of them. That's it, that's all possible endings. Compare that to the near infinite endings you get when not revealing, and I really can't see the point.

I got caught off guard when the "boss" said that he didn't want his son to become like him, and that he wanted his son to become a hero. Like, he knew that he was scamming, and that what he was doing was wrong.
Don't get me wrong: the guy deserves to be put in jail for scamming and ruining old people's lives. But some scammers never admit that what they were doing was wrong. At least this guy was.

Hello from Greece! I've been watching your videos for a few years, welldone and thank you for taking care of these kind of people. I thought that these incidents happen only in America, but recently there has been a huge uprising in these incidents here in Greece too! Two hours ago, I got a call in my shop by one of these guys, claiming that he owed us money due to a car repair that we supposedely have done to his vehicle (but of course we havent) and asked for our IBAN so he could deposit the money. But of course he asked for an email, claiming that the bank would sent us an e mail and we would have to check it and other crazy stuff. I knew from the begining of course that it was a scam, and in the phone I could hear other foreign people on the background speaking with others!Just lilke your videos!!!!! Of course I called the local police department that will propably never do anything! And I only have his mobile number. Is there something that maybe you could do about it? I feel so sad knowing that they will propably scam someone else and there is nothing that can be done legally. I could even help with anything that I can! If yes how can I connact you?

Cracks me up how much they don't want you to call your own bank! Sad that people actually fall for these absurd shenanigans! Keep fighting the good fight Kit! I can kinda understand why he just hung up, at the very end of the call -I mean, when you've made THAT big of an ass of yourself, what ELSE can you possibly say? What ELSE is there even left, TO SAY? There is no "saving face" when you are a thief, that's been outsmarted THIS MUCH! Aren't Con-men supposed to take advantage of the gullible and naive, not join their ranks? I wonder how many times he's made fun of his victims, for being "foolish" and falling for his BS? Well now he knows what being a fool feels like, and unlike his victims, the whole world can tune in and watch HIS foolishness!

17:53 what a lovely question it was! Does he (scammer's son) want to become like his father (scammer)? The scammer's response was interesting. Deep down his conscience, the fact that scamming is a sin is buried and has not turned into ashes. The scope of repentance and returning to fair means of livelihood has not died completely.

It amazes me how they want to keep arguing to "clear their name" even when they KNOW they've been caught. I disagree... I think they have NO conscience and wouldn't care if their kids grew up to be crooks too. They've sold their souls for a couple of rupees and, apparently, that's all it was worth.

@Dan G. Certainly not evil, but I think they were referring to sociopathy or psychopathy. A neurotypical person very likely wouldn't be able to stomach working in a place like that for very long, especially while laying in bed late at night, trying to sleep and thinking about the things they've done.

    • D A
      D A Bulan Yang lalu

At the end, the scammer wanted to talk and listening to him would have been worthwhile. He likely would have justified/defended the work he did, but the guy was also being a bit honest and it would have been interesting to hear about why he found himself in this type of work.

Wow. I hope you know that we all loved that you revealed, b/c it was a chance to have a real talk with someone. I wish he'd been honest and just talked about his inner conflict. I believe this dude has moral turmoil about what he does for a living and what he hopes his son will be when he grows up. I also believe he feels like he has to do what he does, so he can provide his son a life that he probably never got himself. He has to justify it. His son probably has no idea what his dad does for a living, and if his dad can keep it from the kid forever, dad will. I wonder if a heart to heart with this guy and maybe a push or a hand in a different direction would get him off scamming people for a living. Well done, all around, Kit. You're funny, incredibly smart and talented, and you have a big heart.
