Another crucial point is to get your facts right. He said there are more people alive today than have ever lived. In fact, "we are nowhere near close to having more alive than dead. In fact, there are 15 dead people for every person living. We surpassed seven billion dead way back between 8000BC and AD1." Ooops!!

Pointless correction. Feel free to ignore as it has no bearing on the message in this video.
Incorrect. Way off as a matter of fact.
The number of people alive today only represent 7.5 % of all who have died.
There are only around 7.7 billion people alive. Since 50,000 years ago, roughly 108 billion people have lived.
The data was faulty at best, poorly investigated at worst.

He touches on the key information, but he buries it at the end. I found that your audience really gets interested at the start of a speech if you clearly tell them how they are going to benefit from what they are about to hear. What's in it for them?

The title of the presentation was, “How to start a Speech”, in which he covered the important points. I think he achieved his objective and he also held the audience’s attention. However, expert presenters like ourselves noticed that his other presentation skills needed attention, like scratching his nose, waving he arms about, wandering around the stage etc.

    In making a speech:
    Do not walk around
Do not wave your hands around
Make eye contact with individuals in each part of the room.
Do not use jokes. Jokes are at someone's expense, ultimately.
I have used 'once upon a time' as an opener. A real turnoff for young people, "Here's grandpa
    talking ancient history."
Engage the crowd, ask questions, "how many here. . .", but control questions. State at the
beginning how to handle questions and comments.
And there is something in the old saying,
Tell them what you are going to say
    Say it
    Tell them what you said.

Beautiful speaking and good advice, but the "more people alive today" fact is not true. It's not even close: there have been about 108 billion people since Homo Sapiens first evolved. Even if you want to start at year 1 AD (CE), there have been 27 billion in the past 2019 years. Only 7 billion of those people are alive today.

Good advice, his example fact that there are more people alive than have ever died, was far from accurate though. In 2012, there were about 7 billion people alive and the Population Reference Bureau estimates that about 107 billion people have died. So to say we have more alive than dead is way off. In fact, there are 15 dead people for every person living. We surpassed seven billion dead between 8000BC and AD1.

    Fake Factoid!
The question of "how many people have ever lived?" or "what percentage of people who have ever lived are alive today" can be traced to the 1970s.[9] The more dramatic phrasing of "the living outnumber the dead" also dates to the 1970s, a time of population explosion and growing fears of human overpopulation in the wake of decolonization and before the adoption of China's one-child policy. The claim that "the living outnumber the dead" was never accurate (although it may be roughly accurate if only ancestral population is considered). Arthur C. Clarke in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) has the claim that "Behind every man now alive stand 30 ghosts, for that is the ratio by which the dead outnumber the living", which was roughly accurate at the time of writing.[10]
